The MCAT or Manatee County Area Transit and Trolley System provides inexpensive or free transportation to just about anywhere.
So, why not get a lay of the land by leaving your car behind and ride the "FREE Trolleys"!
They travel from Anna Maria Pier to Coquina Beach with service from 6:00am till 10:30pm arriving every 20-30 minutes.
At Holmes Beach, the island’s widest point, the trolley travels north on Marina Drive and South on Gulf Drive. So, walking a block or two to pick up a trolley heading the opposite way may be the only inconvenience.
For ($1.25), you can catch the Longboat Key trolley at Coquina Beach to downtown Sarasota with stops on Longboat Key, Mote Marine @ City Island and St. Armand’s Circle.
